These terms cover the Iceland at Night app for iPhone and Android, and the website icelandatnight.is. Part 1 is about the app, and part 2 is about the website.
These terms are the agreement between you and Voyager ehf for the Iceland at Night app. By using the app you accept them.
Iceland at Night shows aurora forecasts, cloud cover, live sky cameras, space weather and stories, and lists tours you can book. The app is free. Some features need Pro, an optional subscription or one-time week pass.
The aurora depends on the Sun, the weather and luck. Our forecasts combine data from NOAA, the Icelandic Met Office, the German weather service, GFZ Potsdam, NASA and EUMETSAT with our own models. Any of it can be late, missing or wrong. Treat the app as a guide, not a guarantee. We are not responsible for a night without aurora or for the cost of chasing one.
Aurora hunting means dark roads and Icelandic winter weather. Check road.is and safetravel.is before you drive, and dress for the cold. The app is not a safety tool and does not replace official warnings.
Pro is sold through the App Store or Google Play at the price shown there, as a monthly or annual subscription or a one-time week pass. A subscription renews at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. You cancel in your store account, not in the app. The week pass gives Pro for 7 days and does not renew. Refunds follow the store’s rules. Pro features may change over time. On iPhone and iPad, Apple’s standard end user licence agreement also applies.
We send notifications as best we can. Delivery depends on your phone, your network and the data feeds, so a notification can arrive late or not at all.
An account is optional. You sign in with Apple or Google, so keep that sign-in safe. You can delete your account at any time in the app’s settings.
Tours are sold by their operators through our booking partner TourDesk, and cars by Blue Car Rental. Their terms apply to those bookings. We may earn a commission when you book through the app.
The app is for your personal use. Do not copy, sell or redistribute the app, its data feeds or the camera images, and do not try to break into or overload our servers. Camera images, texts and design belong to Voyager ehf or its partners. Map data comes from OpenStreetMap contributors and CARTO.
The app is provided as is and as available. To the extent Icelandic law allows, Voyager ehf is not liable for losses from using the app or relying on it, including missed aurora or travel costs. Nothing here limits the rights you have as a consumer.
We may change the app or these terms. The date at the top shows the current version, and using the app after a change means you accept it. You can stop at any time by deleting the app. We may block access for misuse.
Icelandic law governs these terms. Disputes go to the District Court of Reykjavík, unless consumer law gives you the right to a court closer to home.
The website icelandatnight.is shows the aurora forecast, cloud cover, aurora cameras, space weather and stories. It is free and needs no account. These terms explain how you may use it, and our privacy policy explains what data it handles.
Forecasts on the website are a guide, not a guarantee. The aurora depends on the Sun, the weather and luck, and any data can be late, missing or wrong. The advice in “Stay safe” in part 1 applies here too.
Links on the website take you to TourDesk for tours, Blue Car Rental, our store on Threadless and Buy Me a Coffee. Bookings, purchases and gifts happen on those websites, under their own terms. Tours are run by their operators. We may earn a commission when you book through a link on the website. The website may also show banners from partners, who may pay us to appear.
Texts, photos and camera images on the website belong to Voyager ehf, the photographers named with them, or our partners. You are welcome to share links to any page. To reuse texts, photos or camera images, ask us or the rights holder for permission first, unless the law allows the use.
The sections “No warranty and limited liability” and “Law and disputes” in part 1 apply to the website too. We may change or close the website, and we may change these terms. The date at the top shows the current version.
